This hands-on, 5-hour MIG welding course will cover machine setup, personal and shop safety, flat position welding, and more
Course Objective
This MIG welding course is designed to introduce skilled tradespersons, technicians, supervisors, production personnel, and others in the industry to the proper techniques and theoretical knowledge of the G.M.A.W. (MIG) welding process. By the end of this MIG welding training, trainees will demonstrate improved skills in various positions and gain a brief introduction to welding different alloys, as well as safely operate Oxy-Fuel and Plasma cutting equipment.
Course Contents
- Health and Safety for arc welding & cutting.
- Proper Operating Procedures for Oxy-Fuel, Plasma, and or Carbon Arc Gouging and cutting equipment.
- GMAW (MIG) Theory Fundamentals
- Welding Machine Fundamentals
- Shielding Gases
- Filler Wire/Electrode Selection
- Weld Faults (Causes and Cures)
- GMAW (MIG) Welding Techniques
Evaluation Methods
A theory and practical welding test, requiring 70% to pass, is part of this MIG welding course. Successful trainees receive a WeldTech certificate. This MIG welding training program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Course Duration
Our courses consist of 20 to 39 hours of training.
