Important Information for Candidates
- The Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) does not certify individual welders
- Welders are qualified, not certified
- Welder qualification testing is practical only; there are no written or theoretical exams
- Welder qualifications are:
- Employer-dependent
- Valid only while employed by a CWB-certified company
- Limited by welding process, position, material group, thickness, and applicable WPS/WPDS
- Training programs are not accredited, or certified by the CWB
