MIG Welder
Job Description
As a Welder, you will play a key role in the production process by fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications. You will utilize various welding techniques and tools to ensure the structural integrity and quality of the finished products. Your attention to detail, precision, and ability to work collaboratively with a team are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding process specifications (Optional)
- Set up welding equipment, select appropriate methods, materials, and tools for each project
- Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
- Operate welding equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain welding equipment by cleaning, repairing or replacing parts when necessary
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and meeting project deadlines
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Fit metal components as per provided blueprints/drawings and specifications, ensuring all tolerances are met
Qualifications
- College or technical school in welding is preferred but not mandatory
- Minimum 1 year experience in MIG welding (asset)
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in welding is preferred
- Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail with high precision skills
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong commitment to safety protocols
